ABOUT US

ASBME group photo.JPG

ASBME is a student run undergraduate and graduate biomedical engineering organization at USC that serves the engineering student body through academic, social, and corporate events. Students gain clarity of their chosen field of study and the opportunities that being a BME major brings. Students are also able to get a foot in the corporate door at the annual ASBME corporate dinner, attended by USC alumni as well as other corporate representatives.

Our motto this year is ASCEND ASBME. After online events and reduced engagement due to the pandemic, we are excited to jump back into full fervor, planning many in-person meetings and events for our members. We hope to not only return to normalcy in our event modality, but also to actively work towards improving ASBME. We plan to pursue new ideas and socially-minded initiatives, as well as to encourage discussion and spread awareness regarding topics such as diversity in engineering, racial disparities in medicine, and other issues related to health injustice. Furthermore, we plan to bring our already tight-knit community even closer together, by expanding our mentorship program and holding more social events for members to get to know each other. This year, we hope to bring our members a broader and better version of ASBME. Let’s Ascend ASBME together.
